Figuring things out along the way... Umbrellas in the snow?
The living arrangements in Quebec didn't end up being as was discussed which forced me to adapt to the situation and gain independence, while trying to learn a new language and get accustomed to the culture. I learnt a lot about myself and my capabilities while living practically alone in Quebec City. Overall my time in Quebec was a great experience and has shaped who I am today. Living and going to school in another language and cultural environment is something I am continually grateful for (and drastically different weather, who says you can't use umbrellas in the snow... ;) ) .
I am very proud of the diversity I overcame while on the other side of the country away from anyone I knew. I also realize how privileged I am to be fluent in both French and English. I look forward to going back to the wonderful province in the future and being able to explore the area and get to know the culture even more in depth.
