While in California I took a number of classes and it was really interesting to experience the different classroom dynamics. There was a diverse range of students which facilitated stimulating and thought-provoking discussions.
I took the following courses over two semesters, Marketing Promotions, Consumer Behavior in Marketing, Leadership in Hospitality, Recreation and Tourism, Manage & Supervise in Hospitality, Recreation and Tourism, Special Events Management, Management of Multinational Business, Evaluation Research in Recreation, Admin & Budgeting in Recreation, Facilities Management and Admin. I was also enrolled in two Kinesiology courses each semester, Boot Camp Fitness and Beginner/Intermediate Flag Football

In my Marketing Promotions class we had the opportunity of working directly with Peterson Cat, a large local organization and helped them face their real life problem. My group was in charge of social media. They had social media outlets out there but they weren't being used to their full potential. As a group we came up with the slogan, "Dont just Follow a conversation, LEAD one" and encouraged them to help create value by inspiring their customers to Lead their own conversations. I was excited when I saw this picture they posted, with their banner saying our slogan and our suggested QR Code. (This is a huge company that provides CaterpillarĀ® and agricultural equipment, parts, service, and rentals to customers in 100,000 square miles of territory, they have 20 locations and over 1000 employees).
